At an early age Pat tragically lost his parents, three siblings, and family dog to a death accident caused by a dirty and improperly maintained pool. The fact that the 'incident' took place on a day that Pat’s parents had designated it his turn for Family Lifeguard duty only exacerbated the stress and guilt that would eventually shape his Pool Maintenance philosophy. Being that he was a very young minor, the judge showed leniency and commuted the manslaughter sentence to be served in foster care until he reached the age of 18. Another condition of the sentence was that Pat could not step with in 20 yards of a swimming pool and as a precaution was remanded to the region of America with the smallest concentration of pools per square mile, Michigans’s Upper Peninsula.
14 homes in 15 years would be tough for any kid, but Pat endured his cold structureless and borderline abusive childhood by staying focused on his dream of one day righting the wrongs of his past and honoring his family's legacy by making sure no one would have to experience the pain and turmoil of losing a loved one(s) to an improperly maintained swimming pool. On his 18th birthday, with nothing to his name but his practice skimmer and a pair of homemade jean shorts, Pat
hitchhiked to Texas where he promptly entered into a holy union with the act of Pool Maintenance. Naturally the ceremony took place at the now filled-in pool where he fatally failed his family because of his (then) lack of knowledge relating to proper filtration and his general ignorance to PH balance.
After the nuptials, knowing that sexual intercourse with a predicate was impossible, Pat took an additional vow of celibacy as a proverbial consummation of the marriage. Over the last 15 years, day-in and day-out Pat The Pool Boy™ has honored his vows living every moment dedicated to his spouse and the memory of his family.
So yea, I think you could say we're serious about Pool Maintenance.
